Let me write something. These thoughts are from my Twitter actually, just elaborated further 'cos Twitter doesn't accommodate more that 140 characters. First world pains.

Tak balik raya

Yes aku tak balik Semenanjung for the 2nd consecutive year. Oh Zureeeeen kenapa tak balikkkk....? Oh I don't know, cos my family's all around the world and nobody's home? Aku tak kisah pun, honestly. I've got two midterms to study for, and an assignment due 9th September so I'll be alright. Plus, I'm sure the love will be felt on Eid morning no matter where we are. So Mama, Adam, Adrian or Papa even, if you're reading this (I know all of you know of this blog's existence), selamat hari raya, I love you!

Reading

I miss reading. I really do. Reading fiction or non-fiction, whatever, both. I have books in my possession right now but I'm just too lazy to pick one up and just read. Internet killed the knowledge pioneer. But when I DO pick up a book, I'm always reminded of my unfinished assignments and revisions. That makes me feel guilty for reading stuff other than academic ones.

Facebook issues

Gosh there are so many annoying things people do on Facebook nowadays. (God forbid I'm included). First, I noticed some people 'share' their Facebook accounts. These people are usually made of couples. Couples. Two people who supposedly are in a relationship with each other. If you want to exhibit that so badly, there's this function on Facebook itself that enables you to display who you're in a relationship with! I don't get the purpose of sharing an account. It does NOT make things easier, especially if the couple doesn't have the same set of friends! Seriously. There are no sensible reasons to do such thing. It just confuses the friends further as to who they're talking to, who typed that status or who posted that song or photo or whatever, y'know? Gosh..people amuse me sometimes.

And then there's the tagging thing. Oh come on, there are definitely other ways to promote that piece of skirt you're selling. And there are other ways to tell me that I was your 'top fan' or when I was born! You don't have to tag me in your 'birthday calendar'! I sure as hell know when I'll be celebrating my birthday, thanks.

Oh yes, before I forget. Another Facebook pet peeve. I am amazed at the time some people have on their hands, creating unnecessary hate pages. The other day Barcelona star David Villa apparently insulted Mesut Oezil during a (football, duhh) match. And it was something along the lines of Oezil being a Muslim. Okay, we get it, he insulted our religion, WE MUST FIGHT THIS GUY DEMAND AN APOLOGY HE IS HELL BOUND yeah whatever dude. You don't even know what went down! We don't know what he said specifically. Overnight, spawned this page '1,000,000 football fans hate David Villa because he insulted Islam' with over thousands of likes. WTF people. Calm your shit down. He didn't kill anybody. Lots of people insult Islam every single day. I know that page won't make much difference but it's online, and people live online now. And that page may reflect who we are. Why don't we bring them down by proving that we have manners, and we have class? I'm pretty sure the Prophet PBUH never urged us to hate excessively, or to express our anger oh so vocally? It's borderline embarrassing.

Studies

I've been missing a few uninteresting classes. NOT a morning person, thank you. Taking six subjects this semester, no I ain't overloading, that's just the structure for every student this semester in my course. Sounds like a lot of work huh? Yes it apparently is. The workload never ends. But I've got buddies who are as driven as I am, if not more. So with them around I might be able to do better than I am capable of alone.

Now that was a long one wasn't it? I'll save other petty rants for another post.
